Hestia has always been seen as a pretty girl--with dark hair and rosy cheeks, she has never considered herself anything but. Her slender figure and average height have worked to her advantage when it came to getting her job done as an Auror. Her opponents don't expect too much of a struggle from her, which lowers their guard before she deals with them.
HEALTH: Hestia is generally in good health--her job demands that she needs to be in good shape at all times. She rarely gets sick, but when she does she gets herself checked up almost immediately and follows the doctors instructions exactly. After all, time off while she is working for both the Order of the Phoenix and the Ministry of Magic is never a good thing.

PERSONALITY:
Hestia is headstrong and idealistic. This can be seen as a flaw--she has trouble understanding views that clash with her own, and needs hard evidence to be convinced what she believes in is not true. She clings to few ideals, but the ones she has guides the actions she chooses to take.

She believes that first impressions are very important, and always tries to make a positive one herself. She's extremely extroverted, and will go up to someone and introduce herself if she believes they should get to know each other. She's not afraid of what she wants and she will make no apologies for achieving her goals. This does not mean she is ruthless however, she calculates risk very carefully and ensures she has all of the variables accounted for before she acts.

She knows that she is attractive--she uses this to her advantage, disarming and distracting men to achieve what she wants. She is also very curious and does not mind taking the time to research something (or someone) thoroughly before making a judgement about them.

PHOBIAS: Hestia fears relationships, emotional intimacy, and failure.

GOALS/DREAMS: She hopes that one day, the Ministry of Magic will be seen once more as a reliable institution, one that can be trusted to govern the lives of all its citizens. However, she knows that this is virtually impossible.

-- As an only child, Hestia has always had to do things the hard way. Her father, an alcoholic and an addict of muggle drugs, squandered his inheritance and her mother was too in love with him to stop him. As a result, Hestia grew up unlike other pure-bloods. By the time Hestia knew what money was, she understood that it was something her family didn't have as a result of her father's addiction to drugs. How her father managed to get ahold of these drugs in the first place was, and still is, a complete mystery to Hestia. Unable to find peace within her family, she turned to books for support. The only person who seemed to be able to help her was Gwenog Jones

infit_gwenog, her cousin. In Gwenog, she had a childhood companion. Gwen (as she liked to call her cousin) seemed to be the only person who saw what was happening with her parents. No one else seemed to know, or care.

She doesn't like to talk about her experiences with her family--she rarely mentions them and when she does it is always by a slip of the tongue. She hasn't told many--the only person who knows the full details is Gwen.

By the time Hestia went to Hogwarts, she was used to the whispering and the stares that would accompany her everytime she went out with her parents. The Jones family weren't blood traitors, but to the rich and seemingly aristocratic pure-blood women, the Jones family occupied a spot that was only one or two rungs higher on the social ladder. However, in Hogwarts she found a sanctuary. Most of the pure-blood children didn't know her--her family wasn't important enough or disgraced enough for people to gossip to their children about so she had started off with a relatively clean slate. She seized the opportunity this presented her. As a member of the Ravenclaw house, she excelled in academics. In her third year, she tried out for the Quidditch team. She was made a reserve Chaser at first, but became part of the first team during her fourth year.

She decided she wanted to become an Auror in her sixth year. While many thought the decision odd because everyone knew the ministry was corrupt, she believed that if enough good people who opposed you-know-who joined the ministry, they would be able to stop the corruption. She clung to her belief through training. Her first year as an Auror however, she was sent out to hunt muggle-borns. Disillusioned, she thought of quitting the Ministry, until she was offered a place in the Order of the Phoenix. Since then, her life has had a renewed purpose. Hestia still believes that one day, the ministry can be rid of You-Know-Who and his puppets.
